SJRA Operating Awards

SJRA offers two main awards.

The first is the VHF Colonial Award. This is earned by proving two way communication with each of the original 13 colonies on frequencies of 50 MHz or above. Repeater contacts are not allowed. Mixed modes and bands are allowed.

The other award is the SJRAAC (South Jersey Radio Association Achievement Certificate), which is earned by proving two way communications with at least 50 SJRA members. Repeater QSOs do not count.

SJRA Contest Awards Committee

A Contest Awards Committee has been set up for the presentation of awards by the SJRA for on-air operating contests. The general rules are the following:

1.The Contest Committee, headed by the Contest Chairman, shall have final determination of what events will qualify for recognition.

2. SJRA will recognize members who participate in any contest where there is adequate representation of members in the event. Adequate representation is defined as a minimum of three club members who submit a contest log summary (indicating SJRA as their club affiliation) to the Contest Chairman. Each individual is responsible for the submission of the necessary documentation to the contest sponsor(s) by the due date set by the sponsor - the club's contest chairperson will not normally submit logs on behalf of SJRA members. Members submitting their logs to the contest sponsor are required to indicate on their summary sheet that SJRA is their club affiliation.
