SOUTH JERSEY RADIO ASSOCIATION ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATE

"SJRAAC", which stands for "South Jersey Radio Association Achievement Certificate", is an attractive award, issued free of charge to any licensed amateur radio operator having engaged in two-way communication with SJRA members under the conditions specified below.

General Conditions:

  • QSL cards are not required for proof of contact; an alphabetical list of station call letters claimed is preferred. List must show date, time, band, signal report, and mode of operation. Also include mention if the QSO was simplex, or assisted through a repeater or packet cluster.
  • The stations listed as claimed contacts must have been members of the SJRA at the time of the contact to be considered valid.
  • For the purpose of the award, only contacts made after October, 1957 will be considered. Contacts made prior to this date will not be credited.
  • Cross band and/or cross mode contacts are acceptable for both the basic certificate and straight numerical endorsements. However, such contacts will not be allowed toward specific band or mode endorsements.
  • Keeping in the spirit of this award, contacts can be made with the assistance of a repeater or direct packet cluster, etc.
  • Contact points are as follows: 1 QSO point for assisted contacts via packet or repeater, 2 QSO points for simplex voice HF/VHF, 4 QSO points for CW and FSK, 8 QSO points for satellite and VHF simplex contacts above 900 MHz, and 16 QSO points for EME contacts.

Conditions for Eligibility:

The SJRA Achievement Certificate will be awarded when the applicant has satisfactorily fulfilled the number of QSO points required for the appropriate classification, as follows:

1 Stations outside of the continental United States 50 QSO points
2 Stations within the continental US, including Alaska and Hawaii 75 QSO points
3 For members of the South Jersey Radio Association* 100 QSO points

*Exceptions: Should any applicant be a member of SJRA, but be located outside the continental limits of the United States, condition 1 above then applies. Furthermore, for any SJRA member located more than 100 miles air-line distance from the official meeting site (but within one of the 50 states) the provision of condition 2 above applies.

Miscellaneous:

Endorsement stickers are available for 50, 75, 100, 150, etc. QSO points. In addition, band endorsements and mode endorsements will be acknowledged if clearly indicated by the application submitted. The SJRAAC and/or Endorsements are normally awarded at regular club meetings. Non-members will receive their awards by mail, unless they desire to receive the award by prior arrangement in person, at a general membership meeting.
